The guy’s hiding puzzles me a bit. If he is really big city indifferent, seems that he would stand and watch or walk away. If he is concerned for our protagonist wouldn’t he be calling the cops or moving to help her?
It’s one of those “Bit off more than you can chew” moments– he wanted to make sure she was okay, but realizing she effortlessly pummeled a dangerous bot, who’s to say he’s not next?
