Ch 3 Page 31

Well, this is awkward.

  1. What to do…
But to be fair, if you put into such a position and just get pressured to decide in such a tight spot from someone who knows you have no other choice at the moment makes it even more harder…

I like this page a lot. The first panel looks just fantastic (lighting, mood) and i love their reaction in the last panel.

    1. Especially when the other option is to go back to searching on their own, and well… we’ve seen how well that’s been working.

Glad you like the page! It’s fun to do these moody scenes. :>

  2. Not much of a choice, if they want to find Weiss… Tricky nonetheless.

    (The backgrounds are amazing!)

    1. I guess it depends on how badly they want to find Weiss…

Glad you like the backgrounds! :3

  3. Ahhh! I read all of this straight through (pretty much) in the last 2 days. Now I’m caught up to present and I have to *wait* for the next one! You’re a great storyteller, I hope you keep this up for a long time.

    1. Thank you so much!! I certainly intend to keep the story going. Sorry to make you wait for the next page! D:

  4. “This is the best bad idea we have…by far.”

They’re ALREADY sticking their necks out by looking for Weiss in the first place…

You’ve obviously put a lot of thought and work into the lighting effects–they’re extremely impressive. 🙂

    1. They’ve been pretty much sticking their necks out since they started. But well… the alternative would be a pretty short story. XD

And thanks! It does make night scenes more fun to do when you can have these unique light situations.

      1. This!

Also, above, where you said “It’s fun to do these moody scenes.”

        Creating good characters, putting them in a good story, and drawing the actual comic requires a combination of talent (what one is born with) and skill (learned/acquired), but I think there’s another factor here. If you look at it from a strictly economic viewpoint you’re putting in a lot of time and effort and getting very little back. So, why do it at all? Because you want to, and (!) because you enjoy doing it! And I think that’s (in part) why Centralia 2050 is so good: You enjoy doing it. As you said above “it’s fun”. So I hope writing and drawing Centralia 2050 continues to be fun for a very long time because then I will enjoy reading for a very long time. ;-}}

Honestly, that is a big reason why I’m dedicated to the comic! I love working on the story for the sake of getting it out of my head, but it’s your guys’ readership and commentary that breathes life into the world and characters and makes it worth the effort. So thank you!
